Each member of the Evergreen team has been carefully chosen based on talent, experience and enthusiasm in going above and beyond. In other words, we live and breathe what we do, and take pride in surpassing clients’ expectations.

Barbara Kavovit

CEO

Barbara Kavovit is the founder and chief executive officer of Evergreen Construction. She has over 20 years of management experience within the construction industry. This includes a strong background in design review, value engineering, cost estimating, project budgeting, procurement strategy, project scheduling, long lead items, general condition bidding and awarding of projects.

She has managed on-site operations, office and field personnel throughout her career. Barbara is uniquely capable of dealing with all trade professionals, exhibiting a complete understanding of various trades responsibility and scope. She has led Evergreen Construction on to complete some of the most high profile, detailed projects that have aggressive schedules.

Barbara will interface with Owners, Architects and Engineers as well as NYC Department of Buildings. She holds herself personally responsible and accountable for every stage of the construction process and the client’s total satisfaction. She is relentless in her pursuit of excellence.

Barbara has written three books, including her most recent novel “Heels of Steel” by Harper Collins.

Steve DiPietro

Senior VP of Construction

Steve DiPietro, brings to Evergreen Construction more than 35 years of construction experience. His expertise includes experience in on-site construction management as well as land development. Throughout his career, Steve has collaborated effectively with any array of key partners including clients, owner’s representatives, architects, engineers, developers, contractors, inspectors, city officials, non-for-profit management and staff, decorators, agents and homebuyers.

Since his start in construction, Steve has managed many significant projects in both public and private sector including the following: McGraw Hill Headquarters, Curtis High School Auditorium, Curtis High School Natatorium, Park West High School, Mishkon Children’s Center, Beatman Clinic, Astoria Health Center, PS-279, PS-320, PS-22, PS-77, PS-75, and PS-64 renovations, Sirius Satellite Studios, Kenneth Cole Headquarters, Ernst & Young Headquarters, ICD Clinic, Summit House and the Iron Workers Local, Bionic Solutions, The McEvoy Group, Globant, LLC. and Bandier.

Steve began his career working as a carpenter, building and remodeling homes while attending school for construction management. Over the past three plus decades Steve has worked as a senior project manager for a select group of prominent construction companies within New York City.

Here at Evergreen, Steve collaborates with and directs the construction staff including estimating. He can also, often be found on site, where he personally assures the coordination of staff, trades, vendors, time and schedule. He brings his meticulous attention to detail to every project. Steve is a leader in the NYC Construction Industry.
